Erica E Jorgenson
Assistant Director, Office of International Education
Erica Jorgenson joined the Office of International Education at the University of Denver in September 2021. Prior to this she worked as a Study Abroad Coordinator at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo for 6 years where she coordinated and advised on affiliated partner and exchange programs, developed a Study Abroad Returnee Conference, managed the Peer Advising team and was part of the implementation process for Terra Dotta. In 2018, she received a Fulbright to participate in the International Education Administrators Seminar in Germany.
Erica’s background of working in education and tourism led her to New Zealand where she worked in the adventure tourism industry. She also led outdoor education programs in Florida and Alabama and managed programs around the world for EF Education First. Most recently she lived in Medellín, Colombia where she taught for Open English and led trekking trips for WHOA Travel. She currently serves as the NAFSA Network Leader for the Education Abroad Knowledge Community. She is passionate about the field of international education and in particular, mentoring others and contributing back to the field.
Erica earned her B.A. in Communication Studies from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and her M.A. in International Education from SIT Graduate Institute. As an undergraduate student she studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain through CEA Study Abroad and participated in an Internship program in London, England. She believes in the value of learning through experience and that international experiences can truly shape a young adult’s goals and passions as it did hers.
